Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase – Story Published in Sunshine Coast Daily June 2013
YOUNG CINDERELLA’S ARE ABLE TO GO TO THE BALL AFTER ALL THANKS TO THE KINDNESS OF AN UNEXPECTED GODMOTHER
The students at the Sunshine Coast Tafe know exactly how Cinderella felt when she was unable to go to the ball. The hard working young designers had their annual opportunity to parade their entries in the Calico Bridal Gown completion dashed when a large exhibition in Brisbane was cancelled.
The dresses are the culmination of many months of diligent effort and deserved to be displayed. The talented students were required to use Calico, a very inexpensive fabric, to produce a bridal gown fit for a princess. And just like Cinderella, they also had a fairy godmother to get them to the ball.
The Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase, to be held at Novotel Twin Waters on Sunday June 16th, has come to their rescue. As part of the Expo’s usual fashion parade, the Calico Bridal gowns will be featured, providing experience for the students and an exciting addition for guests to enjoy. A perfect fit, just like the perfect pair of shoes.
“We love to nurture talented young people and are passionate about supporting the wedding industry on the Sunshine Coast “ says Julie-Ann Brown, from The Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase.
